SMARTBOARD


Smartboard dengan maksud lain ialah papan pintar atau papan putih interaktif elektronik. Smartboard ialah sebuah peranti persembahan yang bersemuka dengan sebuah komputer. Imej komputer dipaparkan ke atas papan oleh projektor yang boleh ditonton dan dimanipulasi. Pengguna boleh mengawal kedua-dua perisian daripada komputer dan dari papan.

Pada dasarnya smartboard ini berfungsi seperti sebagai PC/laptop biasa.  Seperti halnya PC/Laptop, Smartboard ini juga memiliki mouse iaitu jari kita sendiri, keyboard iaitu virtual keyboard dan monitor iaitu papan smartboard itu sendiri.
Selain itu smartboard memiliki pen/Digital ink.

Smartboard adalah sebuah board/papan layar sentuh yang dapat memindahkan fungsi  PC/Laptop. Selain itu , ia disertai dengan notebook software yang berisi galeri-galeri pendidikan serta media software persembahan interaktif.


Connection
Sistem perhubungan yang digunakan dari smarboard ke PC/Laptop hanya berupa kabel USB.
Selain itu diperlukan juga sebuah protektor untuk sistem pencahayaan pada smartboard.

Ciri-ciri dan Manfaat
Dengan ciri-ciri yang dimiliki pada Produk ini, banyak manfaat yang boleh diambil, baik untuk pendidikan maupun bukan pendidikan seperti pemerintahan, corporate dan sistem pertahanan.

A.      Manfaat untuk Pendidikan :
 Dengan ciri “Record”  boleh digunakan oleh pengajar untuk mengefisiensikan waktu iaitu dengan cukup satu kali mengajar kemudian hasil rakamannya boleh diberikan kepada pelajar-pelajar yang berkenaan.

Notebook software” smartboard ini boleh digunakan sebagai white board biasa dengan ditambah pen/digital ink dan digital eraseryang menjadikan proses mengajar lebih mudah.      

Notebook software” smartboard ini boleh menyimpan atau membawa bahan yang sudah dipersiapkan sendiri dan di simpan, sehingga untuk proses pembelajaran selanjutnya, guru tidak perlu membawa bahan lagi.

Galeri Pendidikan” boleh digunakan sebagai bahan pendidikan secara interactif dan multimedia.

Apabila dihubungkan dengan jaringan, pihak pentadbir sekolah boleh mengawasi proses belajar mengajar yang dilakukan oleh guru-guru di kelas-kelas yang berbeza.


THINKING BASED LEARNING



Thinking-Based Learning presents the theory that skilful thinking is uniquely tied to the disciplinary content being thought about. Thus, thinking-based learning requires “specific and appropriate mental procedures for the kind of thinking engaged in by the thinker” (p. 1). Skilful thinking is a mindful engagement with content; it is an experience with content knowledge as ideas, issues, patterns, questions, rationales, perspectives, structures, functions, theories, etc. The writers define and use the term skilful thinking, not critical thinking, a concept they believe suffers abuse when oversimplified as a set of classroom strategies. Skilful thinking is a mindful engagement with the stuff of necessity for learning the particular content being thought about. The authors define terms and provide chapters with examples from K-12 classrooms, as well as a final chapter detailing the experience of a school principal leading teachers in on-going consideration of thinking, learning, and teaching.

WEB 2.0

Web 2.0 technologies provide teachers with new ways to engage students, and even allow student participation on a global level. However, children raised exclusively in the era of new media technologies are less patient with activities such as completion of worksheets and classroom lectures. Decreased participation in a traditional classroom may be due to better feedback received online.
Will Richardson stated in Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts and other Powerful Web tools for the Classrooms, 3rd Edition that, "The Web has the potential to radically change what we assume about teaching and learning, and it presents us with important questions to ponder: What needs to change about our curriculum when our students have the ability to reach audiences far beyond our classroom walls?"
                Web 2.0 tools are needed in the classroom to prepare both students and teachers for the shift in learning that Collins and Halverson describe. According to Collins and Halverson, the self-publishing aspects as well as the speed with which their work becomes available for consumption allows teachers to give students the control they need over their learning. This control is the preparation students will need to be successful as learning expands beyond the classroom."
By allowing students to use the technology tools of Web 2.0, teachers are giving students the opportunity to share what they learn with peers. Some are concerned that these technologies could hinder the personal interaction of students: "Social networking sites have worried many educators (and parents) because they often bring with them outcomes that are not positive: narcissism, gossip, wasted time, 'friending', hurt feelings, ruined reputations, and sometimes unsavory, even dangerous activities".
